We use environmentally friendly CRYSTALITE lead-free glass. This glass has high light refraction, is dishwasher safe without the threat of turning gray and has a long service life due to the infusion of titanium. Products made from this unique glass are therefore stronger and resistant to a greater number of cycles in dishwashers.
Svetla nad Sazavou Glassworks
The origin of glassmaking in the Svetla nad Sazavou region dates back to the end of the 16th century. The history of our glass factory begins in 1967, when the construction of a new, modern glass factory started. The actual production started in 1970, mainly focused on manual manufacturing. In 1975 automated production began, i.e. machine glass blowing. Between 1998 and 2000, fusing units were installed and large-scale presses were added, enabling the production of items with a size of up to 45 cm and a maximum weight of 5 kg. In 2008, production at the factory under the Sklo Bohemia a.s. brand was stopped due to the unfavorable financial situation. The reopening of the glass factory took place in October 2009 under a new name, Crystalite Bohemia s.r.o., with a new owner - entrepreneur Lubor Cerva. Today, the Svetla factory operates 5 melting units with a daily melting capacity of 145 tons of molten glass, which is equivalent to cca. 55 million pieces of machine-blown glasses and tumblers and 11 million pieces of giftware per year. In recent years, the company has invested heavily in modern production technologies and currently operates three high-performance bottled beverage lines with a daily capacity of around 150,000 products. The production lines are equipped with state-of-the-art chambers that guarantee the stable and high quality of our products.
